Hometown Representation!!

I discovered two awesome things today on one of my fave blogs : A Cup of Jo

1. I want to be her!

That's right, she's a production designer from Kelowna and she was featured on the site along with all the bigshot New Yorkers and Chicago-ians, check it out for more details!

also, this!

2. Whitepod

Obviously I could not possibly copy-paste to the coolness standards that the real website has, yes this is one website that you do not skip intro... just go there trust me.

If you need a little more persuasion however, here it is.

sometime soon, a Christmas post with any luck...

If I had Twitter

If I had Twitter this is what it would say right now...

Drinking (alone) wine (lots), making stew for dinner, drawing 'save the dates'  and curious what the result will be tomorrow (after my kidneys process the wine)

Is it a good enough excuse that I've had a wild few weeks?

Invitation fonts

So I dropped the ball on the shoe post, maybe sometime soon. I have spent my evening focused on dresses, and invitation fonts! Here are some of the fonts that caught my eye! A couple of them are uber- cutesy but apparently I have a tendency toward curvy... what do you think?

All from my latest fave www.dafont.com

Tie the knot
Get Hitched

Wedding Bells

in the name of lurve
Honeymoon
Now that I see them all together, I'm liking the looks of the 3rd and 4th

Photographer booked!... and other exciting news

So Thursday I checked out early (later than I had planned!) and drove over the mountain range to Calgary so that I could meet and fall in (totally platonic) love with my now official wedding photographer.

Here she is...    http://sarahpukin.com/

Sooo, the drive was a nightmare. Snowing most of the way, -23 on the Alberta side and NO HEATER in the F-ing car! yep, you heard it right!

Also, my mom slowly morphed into bridezilla over the course of the weekend (the combination of photographer booking, dress trying and guest list planning tipped her over the edge). Watch out world, this one's gonna be a handful!

On the way back home, I was temporarily (for a long time) distracted at Chinook Mall... with all of the Christmas dresses on the racks I could not resist the search for the ultimate bridesmaid dress... doesn't this one have the most excellent texture you've ever seen? Its' from Zara.

In other important news, while mall strolling I saw something that I didn't expect to see in this lifetime...

Anthropologie Coming Soon December 2010

Yes, that's right. Anthropologie, the store of all stores at Chinook Mall. I will probably die of excitement when I see their window display... Anthropologie has world-renound window displays, among other things. We'll chat later... I am currently lost in their website trying to find the ultimate photo to post that will accurately display the awesomeness that is Anthropologie... an impossible feat. I'll have to try again after work!

Some more good news is that on the way home I had heat blowing into my eyes the entire way! I have no idea what changed the ole mercedes' mind about keeping things thawed but he pulled through and made it happen!

Time to get ready for another day of great high risk youth interventions....

Littel charmer... in pices!

Just a picture of what Q's workspace looks like... all the time! Now you see what I'm talking about with the obsessive cleaning

Now that's what I call a demolition!

Kind of tough to use this piece as a template!

Well, its not the first project that I've started only to realize that it would require 5 times more time and money than originally planned.... looks like Q and I are going to be spending a lot of quality time together in the garage this winter... as you can see we are talking complete rebuild!

The Sisters on the Fly

While in the midst of a long weekend vintage camper rebuild blitz, my sister allerted me to this collection of like-minded ladies...

Loving them? yes! Worried that I identify so well with this particular demographic? YES!
now stay tuned while I search out photos of the ongoing vintage camper demo because I'm so jazzed up about it...

The star of the show...

In an earlier post I introduced you to a new addition to the car collection in this small parking lot we call a driveway. Another benefit to having an extra 'daily driver' on the books is that Ruby is now eligible for Collectors Plates. This type of registration is for a recreational vehicle only, so the owner must have another vehicle with fully registered in order to apply.

Well now let me tell you about what is in store for for our friend Ruby Red. We applied for Collectors Plates today! (Q) cleaned 'er up, I took the photos, filled the forms and sent them away! Now with any luck I will be accepted into the collectors club where I can enjoy a  ridiculously low cost of insurance, and those much-sought-after-by-seniors black and white collectors plates! Here are the photos I had to submit with my paperwork...

Yes, flat tire included... I didn't notice until the photo shoot was almost over and lacked the gumption required to haul out the 'ole air compressor. I'll keep you posted on our application status!!

A new little sister or brother for Ruby...

Here he/she is! not officially named yet but a few weeks ago I took the plunge and purchased a MERCEDES! Classy right?

Well, I'll let you be the judge of that, all I know is the price is right and it is packing some power in the character department - which scores big points around this household!

He/she does not have an official name yet, but we have a tendency to call it "merc"(merse).... male, or female??? The jury's out on this one, and until the official naming there's no pressure, right?

Why abandon the faithful Ruby Red? Well, while she was a companion full of character, fuel efficiency (seriously) and conversation-killing rumblings it turns out she was not very accommodating to child car seats and elders wanting to feast in out of town community halls (never mind the upcoming chilly temperatures and interior draftiness!)

She is still on the best parking spot in the driveway and an exciting new development is underway!

Fall Foliage

Took some shots by  the lake yesterday. Fall is in full swing and it is easy to be inspired by the changing leaves everywhere! (orchard country)

Fly fishing round up - a photo from (almost) all of our summer fly fish excursions

yeesh... so much for 5 posts a week! I only have one day left... here goes for a posting marathon!

Q and I took up fishing as a summer hobby... neither of us caught a fish the entire time, but one thing I did capture was a lot of photos in between changing flys in preparation for bringing in "the big one"

This is our little camp setup, matching totally by accident! Watch out next year though, we will be camping in comfort and style after the debut of the totally rebuilt chalet charmer! This little trip was near Sicamous BC in the spring.

Here we are in Golden BC, not one bite! Boy do we have great fly casts after all that practice!

These beauties were taken at the lake just minutes from our house...

Thanksgiving weekend at a little lake near Kamloops BC, I am testing out the bouquet in preparation for next year... (exciting wedding details are on the horizon!)

And of course our faithful sidekick along for a boat ride. He had an undisturbed nap curled up on a blanket that day...         because, you guessed it- we didn't catch a thing!

Note: the awesome vintage find
- Old school hipwaders $25 at one of my favourite thrift stores. Tags on and not a leak!
